General Questions
What is functional nursing?
Functional nursing combines the art and science of nursing with a root-cause approach to health. Instead of just addressing symptoms, we look deeper to understand why they are happening. We use a holistic, personalized approach that considers your entire health story—mind, body, and lifestyle—because all of your body systems are interconnected.
Using the Nursing Process as our foundation, we incorporate functional medicine principles, evidence-based practices, and a focus on nutrition, lifestyle, and natural strategies to support your body’s ability to heal. We listen carefully to your concerns and goals, then create a plan that fits your unique needs.
Our role is to educate, guide, and support you with tools, accountability, and resources so you can feel your best. Functional nursing is not a replacement for medical care, and we require that you maintain a relationship with a physician, nurse practitioner, PA, or midwife for your primary and urgent care needs.

Do you provide lab testing?
As a nurse, I do not order labs. However, I can help you request labs from your medical provider or help you obtain labs from self order services. I utilize Physician Services through Rupa Health for functional labs, if needed. As a nurse, I do not interpret or provide medical diagnoses from labs. Nurses use lab results to provide education and lifestyle recommendations. The ordering medical provider is responsible for all lab results. Can you diagnose or treat medical conditions?
No, I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. I work collaboratively with your healthcare providers as needed. Rather than medical diagnoses, nurses are trained in the Nursing Process and utilize Nursing Diagnoses to create care plans. I utilize NANDA-I approved Nursing Diagnoses.Logistics & Pricing
